Having now finished my project, I thought I'd add it here after all the help easy composites provided. It is a radiator support member for a VW Corrado:

Straight after the infusion process is complete:

Pulled from the mould:

And the finished part, all holes cut, big head fixings added and clearcoated:

It was my third attempt at infusing the part after the previous two had issues, and whilst not perfect - couple of pinholes and a bit of weave distortion here and there,  I am pretty happy with the final result! In hindsight a bit of a complicated part for the first go, particularly the deep channel area...

Stack buildup was 450+650 gsm twill for the lower part and 450+450+650gsm cloth for the upper channel section. I also added a third layer of 450gsm cloth at 45 degrees to the rest for the connections at either ends. Was completed with a vacuum infusion process using all easy composite products. Mould was the uni-mould system.

Anyway, thanks to Easy-composites and their technical support, which is really superb. Without that and all the knowledge built up on here it would have been much much harder than it was!

Edit: meant to post this in the project showroom thread but couldn't find it. Oh well, it's here now!
