i did a quick search around and i couldn't find a specific answer.

i need an adhesive to bond some magnets into a heated build plate for a 3d printer but i need it to be able to withstand 120C sustained temps for several hours or possibly even days (some 3d prints take forever) and not degrade or warp as the channels for the magnets are fairly small but also close to the heat source (which is a heated PCB).

any ideas as to which adhesive's would be good?

i know some resins can withstand up to like 400C+ but i've not been able to find out much about sustained temperature loads so i'm not sure if thats just a peak temp it can take or not.

[edit] i should also note that with the bed being a PCB i will be unable to post-cure in an oven and ideally need something that'll cure at room temp.

There are epoxys that can withstand those temperatures. But usually they need to be post cured. You could write a print program to do that. Are you aware that you need special types of neodym magnets at that temperature?

i was aware yes thank you though I've got the correct magnets on the way and I was just looking for recommendations on adhesives - is there a specific resin you had in mind? one that keeps popping up in my search is the EL160 High Temp Epoxy = https://www.easycomposites.co.uk/19mm-aluminium-honeycomb

do you have any other recommendations?

The EL160 is a laminating resin, so will be quite low viscosity. Not sure if that is important for you. You could thicken it with some additives if need be.

My choice would be Araldite K138.

it doesn't look like i can get Araldite K138 in the UK  - all the ones i could find are all in Australia - which is a bit far away for just literally gluing small magnets into a PCB - so i dont think the thin viscosity of the El160 is going to be much of an issue to be honest
