Hi

I am about to embark on my first attempt at casting resin. I must have watched 100s of videos about techniques and seen the trials and tribulations of many others so I am more or less confident with my approach but I do have the following query that I hope you will be able to help me with.
Firstly, I appreciate these bedside tables are not for everybody. Secondly the configuration of the cans will differ to the attached pics. Cans will be separate and angled as if they are falling. The bottom cans will be cut short to look as if they are falling through the floor.
Conscious that resin is not cheap. I was thinking of filling the cans with a cheaper product before setting the structure in resin to save on the overall volume of resin required in turn keeping costs down. An alternative would be to blocking the cans off in some manner, but I don’t want to lose the detail in the can top.

Would anyone be able to suggest a product or approach that would be best suited for such a task?

Any assistance would be very welcome

Many thanks in advance

Steve
