My original oven, whilst usable, was a little Heath Robinson, using 150w lamp bulbs in 3 rings and controlled by a simple thermostat so no ramping or dwell options. So, when my new garage was built I decided to upgrade.

Roughly the same size (1700mm x 1700mm x 750mm) but better insulated and a much better door. I also splashed out on a decent controller, allowing me to control ramp and dwell in both heating and cooling mode. I decided to use an electric oven heating coil and fan. However, the fan blades on ovens are rubbish so I modified my old fan blade to fit.

The controller is quite complicated to program and it took me a while to get my head around it, but I think that I now have it sussed enough for what I need to do. Used it to post cure the car door mould and it worked fine.

Fitted 6 additional temp sensors so that I can monitor the temp all over the oven. The cover hides a microwave glass panel so I can monitor what is going on. However, I still have to fit a low wattage lamp as the cooker coil doesn't get hot enough to illuminate the interior :-)

Oven controls are, from the top, tiny lamp above controller indicates when oven element is on, then controller, main power switch, fan switch and spare power socket. I have kept the domestic oven (behind control panel) for simple, non critical jobs.
