Hi there, firstly I'm new to all of this and was more looking for your knowledge on a project I've taken on without really knowing what I was getting into 🤣👍

Ive bought a bike suspension fork that I had in 1997 and would like to modify it to be long enough for the current standards of today.

Basically, I would like to cut the aluminium legs, internally sleeve them and make them longer, and then wrap the whole lot in carbon to strengthen them.

Ive attached a pic and have skilfully photoshopped it to show what Im banging on about 🙈 
Does this sound like it's within the realms of possibility?
