I want to pick an epoxy product for my wooden boat project, specifically for surface coating.
The substrate is epoxy cured carbon fiber or glass fiber. When I add thickness of the epoxy coating by brushing on additional layers of epoxy, fisheye or volcano craters appears everywhere. I did thorough surface prep before coating, including wet sanding off amine blush and wipe off dust residue.
Maybe the epoxy I used for laminating was not for coating?
So I think XCR resin will solve my problem? Will it fisheye?

btw I want to find mixed viscosity data of XCR, will you provide it? Just didn't find in TDS.
I find it more viscous then el2 - the ec brand of laminating epoxy in your demonstrating videos? Please verify for me.

Generally if a resin is fisheying off the surface it is usually surface preparation and/or temperature related.  We normally would recommend around 120 grit sanding followed by a thorough clean and degrease before coating on a layer of resin. A resin such as the XCR should have no problem coating over a surface prepared in that way.  Keep an eye on the temperature and try to ensure it is around 20C.  If it is higher, the resin gets thinner and can on its own cause fisheyes due to the resin thinning down.
