I’ve used Glasscast 3 successfully as a finishing coat on a couple of river tables, but on this one I’ve ended up with ripples - see the photo.

Not sure what’s caused it - any ideas?

And what’s the best route out, sand and polish, or sand and repour?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi Linty,

Unfortunately, I can not see any images on this. Would it be possible to resend this? Without seeing the image, my best guess would be that the resin may be a little too thin for it to keep its self leveling properties but I cant say for sure.

The best way of repairing this would be to completely sand the surface until it is completely flat again and then either working your way up the grits starting with a 120 an finishing with a 1200, alternatively, you could sand until the surface is completely flat, give a thorough clean, and then pour a new layer on top (minimum 2mm thick).

If you could send the image through I will be able to get a better understanding on what has happened. I look forward to your response.

Best Regards

Tom
