Hello all
i made this panel to cover a pocket in my dash board so i can turn it into more of a glovebox but i now want to make it from carbon fibre instead of the 1.2 mm steel it is now.
i would also like to keep the little bits on the sides for a better fit on finished part (its not a must to keep the sides but im looking at hinging the lid so my thoughts are with the sides on there it will add strength to the panel). im after some advice on the best way to make a split mould for it and still be able to resin infuse it if possible
this is the part im wanting to work with (its still sat on the wood hammer form so its not that deep) the sides come down about 10 mm from the top surface but they do tuck back under the part if that makes sense
i was thinking of moulding the top panel and front as one part and the splitting the mould for the side parts but would i need to make the sides in two parts because of the curve in it or would i get away with just making it from one single piece?
this is the part on the dash board
