Hello again all,
It's been a while since I've posted, or made any parts as well... been busy at work. The few parts that I have made recently (with your suggestions) have come out very good - in my eyes at least! the suggestion for proper trimming of my vacuum consumables helped out dramatically when paired with the "tacky" first coat of resin during wet layup, so thanks to those gems I've been able to avoid the bridging\air voids at sharp angles!

after trying my third part, finally a success! so I decided to purchase more fabric... this time I wanted the 4x4 twill!!! Zonda style!

so with one outer layer of the 4x4 twill, and one inner layer of a 45*\45* the headlight covers for the drift car come in at just under 1\12th of the original weight!!

(this is where the true possibilities of a racing application sunk their teeth in!) so if I can drop that much weight with a non-structural part, here come doors (roll cage already fitted), fenders, liftgate, hood, quarter panels, roof... then I realize, I need a better paying job lol!
I also had some old Ferrari 360\430 door sill plates left over from my previous work... they are heavy heavy stainless steel, so I thought I'd give them a go in the vacuum field...

I was very pleased to know that I may be ready to move on to infusion now that I've grasped the basics of bagging with these few small projects!
oh, and of course... I skinned my E36 bmw mirrors... just to see if it truly was as easy as you have said. AND IT IS!

So again, a HUGE THANKS goes out to all of you here and to the outstanding staff at EC for sharing the knowledge and inspiring yet another person!
