Hello guys,
I'm totally new to the forum, awesome source of information. I'll be starting a new project soon and need some advice. My plan is to carbon wrap a plywood ring (about 18" external diameter, 16" internal diameter and 1/2 thick). I'm really interested in stiffness more than anything so I will lay at least 3 sheets of carbon fiber on each side of the ring. I also thought of alternating the weave orientation at a 45 deg angle for achieving maximum bending/torsional stiffness. So my question is what would be the best way to lay/wet the cloth assuming that: 1) I want to cover the edges of the plywood 2) I will be applying the epoxy with a roller and then vacuum bag the part resting on a flat support (glass).
Thank you for you input! Cheers Anthony
