Hi

I've been using Glass Cast 50 for a couple of projects and  I seem to get lots of air bubbles in the set resin. It looks great when poured.
I mixed by weight, clean mixing cups, stirred for 4 minutes and used a heat gun to remove surface bubbles. The room was kept at 20c
The picture is a side view of the layer.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Was the resin kept at 20C too? if it is cold it can trap air as the viscosity is a lot thicker.

Has the wood been sealed before poring?  Resin can soak into the wood, displacing air as it does so.  These end up as bubbles in the resin.  You can get the resin bubble free with a heat gun, walk away, then come back to more bubbles as the wood has released more bubbles.

Hi

I had heaters running in the room and the thermometer was saying 20c. The resin was poured as a second layer so the majority of the resin was well away from the wooden sides.

The first pour was done a week ago and I lightly sanded the surface  and cleaned with paper towels  before this pour.

Thanks

I'm afraid degassing first then super extra careful when pouring as you don't want it to absorb air as you pour it.
