50mm is the upper limit on Glass Cast 50 for a single pour.  If you have any doubt then I would recommend splitting it into two pours to be on the safe side.  Most plastic or silicone moulds are ok at 50mm but anything with wood or an insulating material we recommend no thicker than 25mm per pour because the wood is such a good insulator that the heat build up during the resin cure can cause an excessively exothermic reaction.

The B stage depends on a few factors such as pour thickness, volume of the cast, presence of other materials, environmental conditions etc .  Typically this can be between 12 and 24 hours taking into consideration those factors.  Thicker the pour, the quicker it will B stage.

Hi, I am about to use glass cast 50. Parts of my mould are around the 50mm depth. Must I pour this in two stages? If so how long will it take to get to the B stage? One more question, what will be the outcome if pouring in one go?

Thanks
Arch.

would be better in two pours, B-stage is varying on different aspects like heat and volume of the material so can't be exact on that. When you feel the resin is hard but still a bit tacky you are in the B-stage. If you pour everything in one pour you might risk an extreme exothermal reaction causing shrink, warp and cracks in your resin
