Hi all,I'm new to this but have a fairly marine based knowledge of materials and processes being from a well known company in the bouys, boat fenders and leisure industry.
I've recently been made disabled and am in the hunt for a new passion, being able to see design right through to finished process is my idea of rc catamaran and v hull boats, these will be fairly big'1.4mtrs in length and should achieve around the 75mph once finished.
I am in search of all the necessary materials I need and came across this site,oh my heaven! My mind is going crazy with numerous ideas of what to use and as these will be hand built and layed,
As for correct methods.for which leads me here? Boats will be ply, bosa wood framed skinned with fibreglass 25gsm and matting layers and probably epoxy as stronger.but now I need advice on prep for skinning wood by hand laying and best process for an amazing smooth finish ready for spraying and indeed the right product for the job.
