Just a quick note to give forum members a 'heads up' that we've just added some heavily discounted carbon to our 'wholesale offers' section (which has been a little bit bare for a while). As you may know we use the wholesale offers section of our website to list very special deals (not just the usual 10% off nonesense!) like when we pick up returned aerospace stock, seconds material, rolls ends etc.

Our last wholesale offer was our 'red tracer' carbon where we sold through 1200m in the space of a few weeks and I think the carbon I've added today will prove just as popular. We have some really nice 240g 2/2 twill carbon at 1.25m wide (which we normally sell for £32/sqm) which due to weaving issues (tight ends and some missing threads) is available for as little as £9/sqm (for a 20m roll) and some 200g plain weave carbon that's first quality apart from a few waterstains that we're selling at £9.63/sqm.

All of this material is structuraly perfect so if you'd like to put some on one side for backing layers (or work around the faults for cosmetic parts) then pick some up while you can.

Sounds like a great offer in deed!

Although I'm a little unsure of what you mean by tight ends when you are referring to the weaving errors. Could you possibly post a few pictures of the defects?

Also when you say there are threads missing, how often does this occur within a meter?

The price is right, although I'm unsure I want 20 meters if defects are significant.

I have been to easycomp today and on seeing the quality of this carbon purchased 20 mtrs,

I cannot tell where the imperfections are,

If i had the money i would have purchased more of it

Perhaps next week when i get paid !!!

We've opened up the 200g plain weave material as well now and just like the 240g it really is almost impossible to see anything wrong with it. If there is staining then it must be very occasional because in the first few metres there's not a single mark. I think the 240g has almost gone now but I'm pleased that a few forum members and regular customers managed to get in early and benefit.
