Epoxies bond very well to clean thoroughly degreased glass surfaces (even to ones with inadequate release treatment, as I found out when trying to make my first piece of flat CF :blush

Silly me thought "Epoxy won't bond to glass ...."
An even better bond can be acheived if the bonding area can be lightly sandblasted (Mask off all the glass surface with heavy masking tape, except where you want the bonding surface.) Normal "beadblasting media" will not work, this is glass beads.... You will need real Zirkon sandblasting media.
In some auto-parts shops you can buy a small "point area" sandblaster gun, they are usuallly cheap, and very usefull and comes with a small amount of blasting grit, for localised sandblasting of rust spots on cars, this will work fine.
Very nice, elegant design Btw.

Good luck, and do post pics when ready to......
