Hi everyone, there is a formula to prepare putty paste?, like the soft one used in automotive, soft, sandable. In my shop I have Cabosil, hollow microespheres, polyester resin, dma, peroxide, talc powder, etc. I have tried some personal preparations, but no succes.

Why not just buy the automotive fillers? It's good stuff and cheap enough.

You would need to make yourself some practice samples but basically I would start with your preferred resin with 2-4% wax in styrene monomer, mostly a Q cell or microsphere filler. Then your catalyst. Mix it up and try it out.

You can add a thixotrope like aerosil or cabosil if needed but these will make the filler harder to sand. It's a bit of balance, add enough fillers and the material becomes light enough not to sag/run. Polyester flow coat and gelcoats with wax make for good filler resins too.
