I'm interested in finding out about calculating structural properties of laminates.  I know this will be a guesstimate as the direction of weave, resin type, vacuum achieved etc will have an effect but I was wondering if there's any guidelines.

The reason I ask is because I made a wing a while back and used 1x200g, 3x600g layers.  It came out 2.34-2.38mm laminate thickness and was extremely rigid.  I could bounce up and down on it without fear of it breaking.  It weighed in at just under 4kg (with struts etc) so I'm keen to balance weight with strength.
