Hi everyone

I'm from Switzerland and new here; I'm not experienced yet but hope to be able to try a first project soon. At the moment I can show you the resin trap I made a week ago:

(these pics were rotated automatically for some reason I don't know, they should be upright)

It's made from Geberit 110 mm drain pipe components, this is a very common system in Switzerland and used in almost every building. The material is PE - therefore not glueable - and professional plumbers use a double-sided welding plate to weld it, I've seen a friend of mine do it years ago and it is really quick if you're practiced at it. However now he isn't a plumber anymore and I wasn't able to get hold of such a hot plate in the short term, therefore I had to hand weld the seams. Doing it for the first time these welds turned out quite ugly I have to admit. Inside I put a 100 mm tin can that fits just snugly.

It is not 100 % tight but tracking the leak down is - unfortuantely - not as easy as it would be with a pressure tank. After 1 hour it had lost 0.1 bar and after 3 hours another 0.1. Maybe someone can advise if I need to try and improve it with a trial and error approach or if this will do.

Regards
Martin

Welcome to the forum!

A tiny leak on the catch pot isn't a big problem as you will clamp the bag up between the bag and catch pot so any leak out of the catch pot during the resin cure isn't an issue.
