Really ... The starter kits from EC are not that expensive .. If you study all the very good instructional videos from EC and find a couple of small items to copy .. and yo have at least some "manual skills" then you will most likely make usable parts right from the start .. (If you know how to paint using a brush and cut fabric with shears and use abrasive paper on a block you are well on your way)
The "learning curve" in CF composites really starts with making a simple mould! You could try the EC epoxy mould making kit:
https://www.easycomposites.co.uk/epoxy-mould-making-starter-kit
Then when you have the mould get:

...
For a total of less than £80 you could get started .. I would add a few metres of peel-ply and release film to the "starter kit" that will be very helpful when doing your first wet -lay .. and get some more nitrile gloves.. hand laminating is a bit messy ...
My first parts were small carbon inlays, and the starter kits would probably be good for 5 to 10 tries .. using simple wet-lay laminating ..
Good luck!

Hi,
I live in Zurich, Switzerland & am looking to get started in hobby carbon fiber, eventually I'd like to learn to make some furniture.
Is there anyone local who could let me have a play before I invest in the equipment?
Tom
