Just a few days ago, someone asked about curing with heat and Paul gave some temps and cure times. Can you re-post them or put them up. I'm am wanting to test a few pieces I've made without using heat curing and then make some and heat cure them. Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

The recommended post-cure cycles vary from resin to resin and we must reiterate that they will improve the mechanicals (and HDT of the cured resin) but they're not essential and all our epoxies, with the exception of the High Temperature Epoxy, can be used without a post cure.

For our two most popular two resins, the IN2 Epoxy Infusion Resin and EL2 Epoxy Laminating Resin I would recommended a post-cure of 4hrs at 40'C, 4hrs at 50'C and 4hrs at 60'C. You'll hear us mention slightly different post cure cycles from time to time which to be honest is because it's not really all that critical. The important factors are that you start with a part that's fully cured at ambient (so 12hrs on an AT30 FAST hardener, up to 48hrs on an AT30 SLOW hardener), start at 40'C (particularly important if you're post-curing out of the mould) and then ramp the temperature up to 60'C for several hours then you'll be in good shape.

All the best, Matt
