In simple terms, material costs plus labour plus overheads plus profit margin.

£150 sounds very cheap.

Ultimately if depends if you are doing it as a hobby to help a few petrol head out and just expecting a few beer tokens in return for your time, or are you doing it as a business??

If the later then you will need to value your time completely differently than just doing it as a hobby, and thats where the cost comes from with skinning.  £50 an hour would not be unheard of for a business with premises and overheads to be charging for composite work such as this.

I work on the basis of "Materials + hours"

I tell my potential customers that high quality skinning is labour-intensive, lots of sanding and polishing to get a good result.

Usually they go away and try to do the job themselves, and I never see them again Rolleyes

I can not seem to make a profit from skinning, so only do it for fun projects ..
