A big HELLO to the composite community!

My name is Markus, I am a 25yr old student from Austria and, as this is the introduction thread, I´d like to tell you a little about your newest member!

I am a huge car and motorcycle geek, I really love anything fast and loud! I have been racing gokarts (mainly shifter class) in various championships and had my fair deal of winning as well. A couple of weeks  ago we were chassis testing and there was this guy who had made his whole gokart out of carbon! YES! The whole frame, every part of the bodywork, JUST EVERYTHING! I was impressed, to say the least! I have since started to look into carbon technologies a bit more and found the Easy Composites tutorials on YT... That really got me hooked! Good job! Now I decided I wanna start to build my own parts as the whole process is just very interesting and a great challange as well! I have already come up with the idea for my first project, the bonnet of my cousins RS4! I will surely post my intended project here, including a ton of questions that have already come to my mind (I don´t wanna mess up too much at the beginning so I wanna get a sound understanding of the whole process). I hope you experts can help me out with your knowledge!

Car and motorsport projects are common place on these forums so there is a wealth of experience here which will help you to achieve what you desire.  A car bonnet is a common project which many undertake and is a good way to learn a variety of skills.
