Hi folks,
new to the forum & have a couple of small projects in mind. One using Carbon Fibre & the other a resin casting
Re. the casting, I searched the forum for an answer without any luck... How fuel & oil resistant are the various resins?. By that I mean pump petrol & mineral engine oil.
The casting would not be directly soaked in fuel or oil but could potentially be spattered with small amounts of fuel or handled by oily hands / gloves;
Or perhaps the question should be; which resin would you
not
use in such circumstances?
The casting is a steering damper knob for a vintage motorcycle so the resin will have to take some firm hand tightening force on it but not a massive amount & perhaps be resistant to the occasional light knock without cracking or shattering chunks off.
There will be a brass/bronze threaded insert cast in.
I'd be interested to hear any thoughts / advice on this
Cheers

For your application, any resin should be fine. If it were me, I would probably avoid polyurethane...

I take it that you will have to colour the casting resin for the knob? I would use epoxy and add...
