Hello Iam going to make a mould of a larger hood 1,5mx1,5m

The instructions says "The guide assumes a mould of 1‐2sqm. For larger moulds (up to the size of full boat hulls) the Uni‐Mould system is still ideal but special measures need to be undertaken when applying the mould reinforcement. Please contact us for more details"

Is there something I need to think about that is not explained in the instructions?

Hi, For larger tools, dependent on the complexity of the shape itself, you may wish to look to add further layers of reinforcement to thicken the actual tool or alternatively include a support frame made from over-laminated strips of timber or foam to the reverse of the tool to help to stiffen and strengthen the tool and to prevent twisting or warping over a larger area.

For a large bonnet mould, this would almost certainly be a necessity to give the tool dimensional stability and also because it makes the tool easier to handle and work with by providing a flatter frame or base to stop it rocking on your work surface.
