Hi,
I'm Dave, I'm interested in getting into vacuum resin infusion. I've done a small amount of hand layup and vac bagging previously. I'm going to do some experimental work using pultruded CF strips to produce composite structural beams, vacuum infusing sandwich panels is also on the cards. I'll let you all know how I get on.
My first big project is probably going to be a stiff/lightweight beam for use in a large CNC router.

I'm working on a CNC router for wood and foam. The loads won't be particularly high but it will accommodate a full 2400×1200 (4' by 8' if you are old school!) Sheet so it has quite a large span on the y-axis. I want to keep the weight down to avoid inertia problems but it needs to be stiff for machining accuracy. We'll see how it works out!
