I've been blasting through my fabric and resin running trials and getting somewhere, to the point where I'm now proudly riding my Daytona with its carbon rear hugger and heel guards.....even though they're not perfect. A mate couldn't believe I'd made them. I'll post some pics soon. They look really nice when finished with a satin or matte lacquer. Dull, but bling at the same time. The best fun has been designing ejector screws into my moulds and hearing the release crackle as the part ejects, without having to be levered out by hand. Next steps.....new EC mould putty, EC vac bag kit, vac pump (which I found for £60, phew!) to make some fuel tank surrounds.

A very keen racing cyclist and motorbiker, interested in developing my skills in carbon fibre parts manufacture and CF repair work. Really interested to know about how to bond inserts into mouldings, like say, screw thread adapters and studs so my mouldings can be fastened into place....as well as just making really cool stuff. I'll be reading this forum to learn and contribute my tales of success and ..... not success! Mike
