I am thinking of trying a sub-frame project for my Ducati 996 trackbike (monoque is impractical because of wiring and other stuff that needs to be placed in the frame).
As I understand it extruded tubing is far from ideal in this kind of scenario where forces is bound to come from all sides at some point in time (trackbike).
I am not able to find rolled tubing anywhere in Norway, and because freight from UK to NO is pretty expensive I am looking into other options.
Extruded tubing is available and I was wondering whether this could serve as base and I could roll on extra material to get "real world strength" as needed.
Could it work?
PS: Look/finish is not very important
Any suggestions and advice is appreciated.
