Well this IS my last DIY resin pot tell I get a real one. If your in a pinch you could make a temp one like this too.

I had made a horizontal version about a foot long out of 3" pipe, and I filled it haha. so then I built this beast its about 3ft by 4" Plus being vertical can fill it all the way up not just half.

The lowest nipple is for going to the part, the higher one goes to the pump on the table. this is a good safety because the thing should clog before reaching the gauge or pump and I will know its full.

I think I over did it on this one haha, just because I was learning on the smaller one I had and it filled pretty quickly. However now that I know a bit more on pulling the resin right I don’t think I will have much waste and the little catch pot they sell will be perfect.

Hey there,

While we're at DIY stuff, here's my vacuum pump setup. I made it using EC pump and an old compressor reservoir. I made the catchpot out of aluminium cos i must admit, since I made my first mold, I like to polish stuff Tongue. The pump is triggered by a vacuum pressure activated relay, so the pump does not run continuously, and then I dont hear the annoying motor of the pump when I'm chasing leaks...

And the reservoir will also help if i ever want to make vacuum molding of plastic sheet.

Thats it.

Now thats the other side of DIY, That's one fancy pump!

Just today I used my new catch pot gotta say I like that I can store pressure in it, Just like you said in a leak detecting situation dont wanna have that pump on.

now I seal the mould off from the pot and if the bag gets to loose while im fingering my mould, I can open the valve for a sec and suck it back to 30 psi from the tank.

I can almost do a complete resin pull just with the pressure in the tank haha!
