To all users,

As many of your will be aware, there have been a number of spam posts to the Talk Composites forum. We try to tackle spam quickly and keep the forum a great place to discuss composites, rather than fake passports or counterfeit banknotes but there have been an increasing number of these posts and so we're trialling a range of measures to fix the problem for good.

As from today, no posts can be made by members with unverified email addresses. Whilst 90% of forum members already have their email addresses verified, there are still quite a lot of legitimate members, who have already contributed posts to the forum, who's email addresses are not yet verified. From today, these members will now no longer be able to post until they log into their 'My Profile' area and confirm their email address. A new verification link can be sent at any time from the My Profile area.

If you don't see the 'New Topic' or 'New Reply' buttons in the forum, it's because your email address is unverified.

We hope the above measure will solve the problem of spam posts on the forum. If it doesn't, we have other measures we can take until we can ensure a spam-free forum we can all enjoy.

Now that was short lived - did they just confirm their email address manually like we all did and they're still going for it. Gosh, have these chaps never heard of Gumtree to sell their dodgy wares, how/why on earth would any of us even think about their product - surely they're wasting their time and should realise this.

Are you just deleting them or are you reporting them to the Police?
I am sure they would like to know.

They are sent via software bots from places like Russia and Kazakhstan etc.

no point contacting the police.

its a case of figuring out how they are posting and then locking it off, ive a mate who runs a bike forum and he says its quite hard to stop.
