Hi all

I'd be interested to know, especially from some of the more experienced people out there, just what method you choose for making pleats in vac bags e.g. tape double back on itself, a single line of tape just doubled-over at the top, or perhaps taping round the entire bagging film first prior to sticking to the mould

As most issues with leaks seem to come from the pleated areas, just what method have you found to be most reliable?

Cheers

Single bit of tape with an overlap at the top where I fold it over seems to work for me

Bit of a thread revival here, but have found that doubling back the tape on pleats is more reliable and leads to less pulling and wrinkling of the bag at the pleat when it's pulled down. This, along with the tip, picked up on here,  of creating a small donut of tape to sit on top of the silicone connectors inside the bag means I get full vac first time nearly all the time now.

In hindsight, I think most of the time I was chasing small leaks around the pleats with little success it was most likely either the inlet or outlet that wasn't sealed properly much of the time.

Creating moulds with square/rectangular borders (regardless of part shape) has also made bagging less complicated, at the expense of a little more by way of consumables.

Thought it worth posting for the benefit of anyone trying infusion for the first time.
