I am embarking on a carbon bike frame project and am going for a straight forward composite tube design first. I have already procured the carbon tubes and adhesive, but I wanted to know which was the best material to add around the joints to provide additional strength ?

I believe there are 2 methods, use carbon tape wrap around the joints, or first fillet the joints to make a nice smooth surface prior to carbon tape/cut sections.

As its my first project, I want to go for the belt and braces way first, so it may be over engineered, but can optimise design in the future.

Any information would be appreciated.
