I've recently started messing around with a bit of life casting using alginate and plaster. I have got all the technique sorted, but my biggest cause of failure is removing the plaster from the alginate and accidently snapping fingers and toes off.

While most can be repaired with a little super glue, I'd like to not have it happen in the first place so was wondering if there was a way to dissolve the alginate without damaging the plaster inside?

If not, has anyone got tips on removing delicate parts?

Thanks in advance
