Hi, I have infused a few parts now and up untill this point I have been really pleased with my results, however the last part I have made has ended up being a total disasterSad basically it's a bit more complicated than any of the other parts I have tried to make, it has quite tight corners and it is quite deep. all around the corners i'm getting big air pockets, why is this happening i have got perfect vacuum so how come there is air in there? help please it's driving me crazy! Hi Mike,

There really isn't any method to getting resin to fill the bridged areas, it really is important to ensure that the is enough 'slack' in the carbon to ensure that it can intimately contact the tool surface, the peel ply and mesh can be cut to allow more free movement, and as always it is important to position the materials before full vacuum has been reached. using blunt tools with breather wrapped over them to press the stack into corners can work really well but you must be really careful not to puncture the bag when doing this.

This problem will occur even if the bag has a perfect seal, the voids are not necisarily air voids, it is still possible to get a void in total vacuum if there are 'bridges' in the reinforcement or the bagging stack, so like with most aspects of infusion, preparation is vital; if you suspect any bridging it should be addressed before pulling the resin through, to do this simply bleed a bit of air back into the bag to relieve the pressure and reposition the bag until you are confident that it is in firm conact with the mould tool.

I'm sure if you do this your parts will come out perfectly.
