Hi there - Ade here, from Wallasey, which is near Biirken'ed on the Wirral. Looking forward to learning how to do composite parts for my racing car - a (currently very rusty) Jag XJS V12...
I'd like to jump right in at the deep end & use resin infusion to copy some of the larger panels - bonnet, wings, maybe door skins; but I'm also wondering about making some more complex and more structural parts - e.g. copying the front & rear subframes in a mixture of CF, kevlar maybe with an aluminium frame for additional strength...
The easycomposites videos, btw, are brilliant - it's the "making a bonnet" one that suckered me in, that's the exact technique I'll want to use to make the bonnet of the Jaaag, and the tailgate. The wings I guess I should be able to make a single piece (no inner mould required).
Righto, going for a look around.
Cheers!
Ade.
PS: I'm running a build thread on the Jag here:

- but any CF stuff I'll post up on this forum as well

'sup. Looks like the tin worm has been at your waggon! Makes it a prime candidate for composite panels. I wouldn't look at doing subframes as the load calcs will bake your head but the weight saving on all the sheet metal should be good. I'll be watching this one closely.
PS: LS1 would fit nicely in there.

Thanks
Yeah, the old tinworm's been busy.... I need to keep the main structure metal (for the regs), but most of the outer panels can be changed.
LS1? Nah, not enough cylinders....
