Dear all,

I am looking for a solution to deliver high pressure (70-100 bar) coolant gas (-20 , -30 C) to a silicon based system.
I was wondering if the Pultruded Carbon Fibre Square Box Section pipe could be a good solution.
Do you have simulations for the environment conditions I mentioned above? Or any direct experience?

The tubes and box sections have not been designed as high pressure tubing/piping so we hold no data on thier capabilities in this area.

You would need to use the basic mechanical data on the website to see if you could calculate its burst strength or do some practical tests.

Pulltruded sections typically (and I say typically as some people have experimented with twisting the fibres to gain torsional strength) have all their fibres orientated along the length of the section, so can be strong in bending in (single and biaxial depending on the section) but dire in torsion and "normal" forces. With high pressure applications you need a variety of 0, 90, +/-45 UD to withstand the internal pressures. There is a book by "Swanson" that if I remember correctly has worked examples of how to design the member for the forces.
