Dear Sir/Madam,

We have already ordered CFRP and GFRP sheets through the University of Edinburgh finantial dept. and in order for me to start working with these materials I have to get the MSDS for the fibre glass, fibre carbond, and EL2 epoxy-resin which I'm using.

I would realy appreciat sending it to any of the following emails:

z.al-azzawi@ed.ac.uk

zaidkani@yahoo.com

Thank you for your time.

Zaid

Hi Zaid,

Warren is off this week so I'll answer your questions.

would you mind explaining the abbreviations used in the Grafil data sheets because I'm lost.

They're all standard units so I won't explain them individually but any material science reference materials would be able to explain units and measurements like tensile strength and modulus, I'm sure.

Like what does this represent: TR50S 12K

Well, TR50S is effectively the part number for the grafil fibre that's used to weave our 450g and 650g cloth. The 12k referrs to the number of individual filaments of carbon in the tow (the 'bunch' of fibres) that the cloth is woven from.

and I still need the Glass fibre mechanical properties.

Here's the mechanical properties for the glass fibre used in our biaxial glasses:

Density (g/cm3):  2.6
Tensile Strength (MPa): 2200
Young's Modulus (GPa): 80
Elongation to Break (%): 3.5
Coefficient of Thermal Exansion (10^-5/K): 5

I hope this helps,

All the best, Matt
