Best solution I have managed is to use the Rapid Repair resin from EC mixed 50/50 with naphtha (fast panel wipe) or methylated spirit. This will go to a tack in about 30min at 25 C and will hold its tack for about another half hour after that. This is still not what I would call an "ideal solution", but is the best I have come up with so far...

As for the hairspray I would say that this wouldn't work because hairspray I based on "Shellac" resin and from my experience shellac just does not do what a "tack" does. Yes the shellac is very sticky at first but then starts to flash off and once the solvent is gone its dry! And that all takes place in a matter of a few minutes, obviously not any use on a big/complicated part! Another thing to note is that shellac is an amazing sizing (sealing/priming) agent and has the potential to "bog up" the reinforcement and create the same delamination problems as normal tack does.

StayZ = Is no longer even listed by the manufacturer as a product!!! So don't hold your breath...

But I have seen this, cant say that it looks 100%, but still must be better than the rest and its also made by a company with a bit of "know how". This stuffs also not easy to find though...

Daz, that's what I just used to make 6 headlamp covers.  Tricky mould, very tight corners. It worked very well with infusion, no issues whatsoever.

Just be aware that you need to use easylease as your release agent. It won't stick to polished wax.  Also it only needs a very light spray, leave for a few minutes and crack on, it works a treat.  Cheap too.
