Is that the answer you found? Thanks for replying Hanaldo. The two S-2 fiberglass types I bought are style 6581 and 6781. Style 6781 is extremely drapable. Style 6581 is not drapable. It is very stiff. From all aspects but one, these are the same as far as weight, weave, and thread count. The only major difference I can find is style 6581 has two S glass yarn half the weight of the one used in 6781 twisted together (2-ply twisted yarn). I looked at both the BGF and Hexcel websites for information on these two fabrics. For my purpose of building a canoe, style 6581 requires a lot of spray adhesive to remain in place. Even then, smaller pieces have to be used. I would never buy this fabric style again. Alan Edited 5 Years Ago by ahender

I have some old 10 oz. s-2 glass purchased years ago that is extremely drapable. What I purchased recently is very rigid and would never conform to a contour. Is calling and asking the only way to know for sure? Thanks...Alan Found my answer.
