Hi all, I recently lost my newborn baby daughter and I am looking into casting her headstone myself with epoxy resin. I am making a dumbo shaped mould A2 sized and looking to be around 65mm thick. I have never used resin before so any advice would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for your loss.

Hanaldo has some very good advice there. Are you looking to keep it clear or coloured? If you are pigmenting it or painting it a set colour then the UV issue is less of a problem.  Certainly if painted, I would be expecting the paint to wear and fade long before the resin gets exposed to UV.

With pigmented epoxy, we have seen customers cast it outside with no problems and just find over several years the colours began to fade.  However this was only on the very surface and a light sand and polish restored the resin back to original finish.

If you do go down the epoxy route, the product from our range is the GlassCast 50 Clear Epoxy Casting Resin

I am looking for it to be a light grey as dumbo would be then the detailing carved out painted in pink the detail would already be set in the mold so no carving would needed to be done. Do you sell the pigment separately or do you do a grey cast resin
