5Pa is approx 99.5% absolute vacuum. The EC pump claims 99.97% but costs 6 times as much! 99.5% is adequate for most jobs and I doubt that you could tell the difference if identical items were cured...

For a beginner making small stuff then a cheaper pump, those sold as air conditioning units for example, will be fine. If you decide composites aren't for you then you don't have an expensive pump...
