Hello, i would like to do a fibreglass bonnet for my car and have a question. It's a simple shape with just 4 lines over the bonnet so i would like to build it on the original bonnet and use it (no mould)
I dont care much about the outer finish because it will be sanded and painted.

I checked the site and the only fabric wide enough is biaxial (i need 124cm width)

How much layers of 320g fabric would be enough for the part? I will make reinforcing strips on the underside and it will be mounted on the car with 4 hood pins.

I was thinking of using some 160g fabric for top layer but there is no 1.27m wide...

What products would i have to purchase to make it?

hi, small remark; I hope you know that if you don't make a mould the part will be larger than the original hood (thickness of the fiberglass thicker) so it could get quit tricky to make
it fit just like the original bonnet...

I can not help you about the thickness needed, but some guys here have already made some good looking bonnets, maybe they can help you a bit more.

good luck!
