The Rear Wing has finally gone from a concept to a finished part. Cosmetically it is far from perfect but it performs as per the the simulation model.

Thank's for the comments fellas. This next one will be done using infusion so cosmetically should be better.

Top job! Looks a very mild profile, are you using a profile modelling software package? I reckon a clearcoat, flat and polish would have that looking perfect. (I'm not a fan of infusion)

Hi FLD, thanks for the comments. Yes the Profile was developed some years ago using CFD Software when I worked in the Aerospace Industry. I ran an Ally version on a Race Car back then and it worked well at a 7 Degree angle. This one is going on a Bikesport Race Car soon for testing/evaluation.

I'd be interested in the results from that. Are you using a piezo balance under the struts to measure downforce?

This is what I made. It seems to have a bit more of a curve to the profile but it was just ripped off an existing known profile so nothing as exciting as CFD modelling. The struts also look a bit lower tech than yours!

Nice work.
My limited experience shows that a "curved" trailing edge has a negative effect on the down force that the wing creates. The wing becomes a "spoiler" rather than a "wing" For it to be an effective wing it would need to be above the roof line.
