Hi, l'm looking for a suitable means to make a 90 degree bend in 40mm dia woven tube.
Default, messy idea is to use an abs plastic elbow and wrap with carbon fibre tape and resin. Would that work... or is there a 'stock' carbon item that would be reasonable?
Suggestions welcome!

Ok. . It's a 'hoop' for a Merlin Rocket sailing dinghy. Two uprights approx 900mm, cross bar at top approx 400mm supporting a short section of mainsheet track and traveller. Must be able to withstand shock loadings (and me hanging on to it when I lose control of the boat!) of approx 70kg. Hope that makes sense. Here is a picture of one without track:

Could you mitre the join and bond the tubes together with a 5 minute epoxy (or something more structural if needed, but you'd need to make a jig to hold the tubes together while it cured), then wrap....

Thanks, yes, that's another option, especially if plugged internally and also reinforced externally with an alloy jig, which I think would need to be permanent. Otherwise I think I would need a coupl...
