I have found that, whilst a fabric like EC's 'Pro-finish' can be good for getting neat cuts without fear of the fabric coming apart, the cut edges can still exhibit some fraying if not handled with the greatest of care when positioning. You also lose a lot of the drape characteristics that might be desirable in moulds with a bit of shape to them, so treating a 'normal' fabric in some way to reduce the chance of fraying can often be a more favourable way forward. It's usually a little more pricey, but the common range of 240/245g twills are so much nicer to work with and trim than most 200g alternatives and also tend to look better when laminated, due to the tighter weave pattern
