Does anyone know how well the easycomposites infusion resin holds up to permanent immersion in car engine oil? I'm looking to make a small cover plate for an engine timing chain and need to know if i can use normal epoxy.

fully cured epoxy has a very good resistance to oil.  However, working engine environments generally are not so ideal with high temperature operation as well as oil contamination with combustion products, ethanol etc all of which can to a greater or lesser extent attack epoxy.

So As a result, I would always recommend a tank liner or coating to protect the part.

Your best bet is to look to the vehicle restoration industry as they have a range of sealers for various tanks.
