Firstly, Hi. My names Ted. I'm new here.

I'm on the hunt for the perfect solution. So far I've tried a variety of different Silicones to no avail. I'm trying to cover an object with something that feels nice to the touch, something that is durable but flexible. For arguements sake, lets call it a necklace. My product has, incorporated into it, steel wire, two varieties of silicone (unspecified) (bands and grommets) and acrylic beads. Due to the diameters of the object I'll be "dipping", draining and leaving it to dry/cure so temperature control is going to be an issue, I'm assuming.

Doing a rough survey of the site I've come to the conclussion that this is my best option:

Xencast PX30 Soft Flexible Polyurethane Rubber - 1kg Kit

But can I use this with my desired method (dip and drain and hang, if you just tuned in) or does it have to be used in conjunction with a mould?

Thanks, any and all help would be appreciated.

Hi Warren, thanks for taking the time to reply. You saved me a call to the office. We'll actually be completely swapping the silicone for the rubber, my only real concern in regards to adhesion is the pre-existing silicone parts but the polyurethane should have plenty to adhere to as they're interwoven into the model.

Can you tell me what to expect in regards to temperature control, please? How best to approach the problem, any helpful equipment, etc, basically any advice you can give me.
