Hi Turk,
As a temporary measure I don't see why that wouldn't work. As usual, give the surface a good key so the Pattern Coat will bond to it and in effect, build up layers of the Pattern Coat Primer in the normal way and sand back to the desired shape before polishing the surface back to a gloss. Although the Primer does not have an aluminium filler to help with temperature stability, I suspect for a one off use it would be ok as the heat would dissipate quickly from one pull from the mould.
