overcoating acrlic paint

will your epoxy coating resin overcoat acrylic paint without reacting to it, i need to waterproof a project. thanks

Hi Jenga,

I'm not sure why this hasn't already been responded to, must have been missed somehow!

The epoxy will not react with the acrylic so I see no reason why it could not be done if the paint was properly degreased and keyed (sanded) however coating with 2 dissimilar materials is never recommended practice so I could not guarantee its longevity.

It might be better to seal the project using further coats of the same acrylic used to initially paint the part.
