Group: Moderators Posts: 226, Visits: 334	I was impressed with all the members work thats been posted this weekend so decided to show you what ive been working on. Still not finished the GSXR400 but its due to other projects. Guys at UoN built an electric bike that happens to be VERY quick and came to me to replace the pretty much Knackered old glass panels Ive put a link below to their facebook that interested parties can read and get some info on the bike. Please follow and like their page. https://www.facebook.com/UoNElectricMotorbike/ The pictures don't show just how battered the old parts are but ive used over 8 ltrs of bondo so far and ive still got two lowers to start. old Fairing We decided to cut the fairing into three giving a nose and two side panels. one of the new side panels as it came out of the mould. Left the screen on as it held the nose cone square plus i wanted to change the screen making it smaller like moto gp style, the new nose would be lighter than the screen and it gives more advertising space. also had to make a new mount to reconnect the side panels, lower picture. Can't explain how bad the seat was. picture just doesn't show it, every edge was out. finished seat looking sweet. Finished ready for fitting, even reworked the emergency off switch saving 140 grams. The dummy tank, again not too straight. This needs to be reworked 30mm higher to allow for the new battery system. This is where im at now. The initial fit up is spot on, looks a bit of a beast but actually feels nice when sat on the bike. the black square is the battery area below. Chris. Tags motorcycle Edited 9 Years Ago by VVS

Had to build the seat hump from hd foam, the old seat had hardly any hump and a lump of sponge taped on for support. cutting the fairing gave problems because once cut the panels didn't match up anymore, there must have been tension in the part that was released once cut so I had to brace everything to get a fit.

Group: Moderators Posts: 226, Visits: 334	Cheers davro. would have been out there myself but going motogp Cataluña on Thursday. ive not seen the other bike wrapped but think its hobby craft in silver yellow, they are numbers 4 and 8, riders are Peter Hickman and Daley Mathieson, both very quick.

Group: Moderators Posts: 226, Visits: 334	Ye very impressive specs on the bikes, motor revs to 10000 rpm, no clutch or gears, zero revs is zero mph and 10000 is 220+ mph! torque is around 170ftlb linear so always in the sweet spot, feels a bit like when you are taking off in a plane when on your holidays, just keeps getting quicker. still Mugen Honda and then everyone else, they got a few million to spare.
