Group: Forum Members Posts: 10, Visits: 73	Ultimately, my dream is to make a full carbon fiber boat hull (runabout size, maybe 4 meters in length), but I'll have to wait for a Lottery win to do that. It would have an aluminium honeycomb core.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 2.5K, Visits: 28K	Possibly not as expensive as you might think for a one off, depending on the design. Especially in Brisbane, you've got a good few advanced composite suppliers near you so you can really keep the costs down. I get most of my stuff imported from Brisbane, and the DG charges are horrible. Get some experience under your belt first, but I think once you've got the hang of making moulds and carbon parts, a smallish boat hull like that isn't totally affordable (if you don't count the labour time).

I've searched around but can only find a place called "Boatcraft" at Loganholme. Easy Composites could set up a business here in Australia and make a killing. Yes, the DG charges are significant indeed. All part of the learning process I suppose.
